First Day of Lehi, Utah Marketing Class – TODAY

Hey all! I’m so excited about the first day of marketing class. Remember this is in Lehi, Utah so anyone in the surrounding area who wants to can come and glean.

Today’s class will cover orientation – understanding different types of business – target market – and what we’ll be doing over the next several months to help you start making money.

Well… Absolutely! It’s essential to attraction marketing… and I think especially to attraction network marketing.

Who wants to be pounced on?

Nobody.

Let me share a true story to illustrate my point.

Recently one of my wonderful marketing students (a couple) had gotten sucked in to the idea of posting a sticky note with a stamp on it coaxing people to call based on the idea of part time work for so much per month and “call this number”.

Originally the process included a sifting process where once someone called they were then emailed a questionnaire and asked to fill it out and then send it back.

What do you think happened?

Well, there were a lot of phone calls. But nobody was willing to send back the questionnaire  and I’ll tell you why in a minute.

Here’s what happened.

After not getting any emailed questionnaire’s back desperation set in and the questionnaire was blamed. They started leaving it out and essentially started pouncing.

Now, these are fantastic people. They are simply making a very common mistake when it comes to attraction marketing and they left the attraction part out.

Before I go further I want to define “pouncing”.

Pouncing: v. Asking someone to marry you on the first date – showing someone the opportunity on the first exposure to you – essentially moving way to fast to create a relationship of trust and chasing the prospective partner away as fast as he/she can run.

It scares people. It even scares me.

Okay. Why didn’t people fill out the questionnaire?

This is super simple.

Stay with me.

  • If you put an add out that looks like it’s a part time job then the people who call are going to think they’re trying to get a job interview.
  • If they think they’re going to get a job interview, then they will not be mentally prepared to discuss business.
  • If they aren’t entrepreneurs then they’re probably employee minded people.
  • If they’re employee minded then they don’t want a business because they just want to be told what to do and do it… or they just like to sit at a desk and collect a paycheck.

These people are not your target market!

So make your ad (if you place an ad) speak to your target market.

If you’re an attraction network marketer in the making then your target market is… are… network marketers, and people who are looking for a smart business to join.

Most of those people know they want an MLM.

There aren’t a whole lot of pre-written ads that attract “MLMers” that you’d really want to put on a sticky note if you’re into this style of offline marketing.

You’re going to have to go back to the idea of becoming the teacher. If you allow your opportunity to be the final step in your sales funnel (instead of the fatal first step) then you should consider writing the sort of ad that speaks to someone who is already in network marketing about putting healthy attraction marketing into the equation.

Lead Generation Thunderstorm!

Last night I had an amazing experience that gives me an excellent Leadership and Lead Generation analogy.

In the wee small hours of the morning a massive lightening and thunder storm flew over the mountain that I live on in Utah. It was so incredible!

I’ve never been so close to lightening before as I was last night. I was in awe of the powerful crack of thunder that was so loud that it literally shook my home over… and over… and over again.

What an impact! It had my kids running and snuggling into our bed for safety.

Let’s Make a Lead Generation Thunderstorm for You!

You know how important your business is to you… You have been through your warm market list multiple times… and you are finished with buying dead beat leads… This is your hour, my friend. It’s time to shake the foundation of the masses and get yourself some low cost leads who really want to make a success of themselves!

Shake the house with your enthusiasm. The stuff that leaders are made of… Are you afraid? Don’t be. Everyone has to start somewhere.

That’s why the topic of this article is Leadership Skills.

Can you imagine how powerful it would be for your business if you could rock the online lead generation world  with the excitement that keeps you from quitting your business even though you know you have a lot to learn?

You can do it, and have people racing into your business… if you handle your lead generation the right way.

Let’s talk skills:

  • Writing Skills
  • Public Speaking Skills
  • Enthusiasm and Urgency Skills
  • Consulting and Listening Skills

Not to mention:

  • Follow Through
  • Tenacity
  • Inner Strength and Peace
  • The ability to put powerful people to positive use
  • Connection to a Mastermind of strong, successful, supportive people
  • And last, but certainly not least: Humility

These are skills that a true leader in the rough knows that they need to develop. Don’t underestimate them, they go hand in hand with the system, proper set-up, impressive and valuable follow-up, and every other technical skill that you also need to acquire in order to get what you want from your business.

All of the above mentioned attributes are skills that come naturally to some (the successful 3% in MLM) and are hard learned by the rest.

That shouldn’t stop you though. Knowing that you can learn these skills should be enough for a leader like yourself to go out and snatch them up.

Have you ever thought about what a difference attitude makes to successfully getting whatever it is you want, in business or otherwise? I know that you’re the type of person to get through the learning curve knowing that the only person slowing you down is you, and make lots and lots of money doing what you have chosen to do.

Make Yourself a List.

Which of these skills do you already have? We know tenacity is one of them or you just wouldn’t be reading this article. Nobody is going to hold you down. You’re going to find a better way to market yourself and get in front of more people more consistently and knock the socks off of everyone who ever told you it was a bad idea.
